Tesla announced plans to deploy 20,000 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations across 2,000 Hilton properties in the United States, Mexico, and Canada starting next year. This collaboration aims to provide more convenient charging options, increasing the accessibility of EV charging for both Tesla and non-Tesla vehicle owners. Hilton's decision aligns with the growing demand for EV charging services, especially among leisure and business travelers.

Hilton's Chief Brand Officer, Matt Schuyler, stated that they have observed a significant surge in requests for EV charging services and that this partnership with Tesla aims to meet their guests' needs. As the business travel season commences, with events like the APEC Summit and Dreamforce, hotel operators aim to attract executives and boost revenue. The availability of EV charging stations has become a crucial factor in driving hotel bookings, becoming the second most important search attribute after airport shuttle access.

Why it matters

This initiative is expected to stablish Hilton's charging network as the largest among hospitality providers. Additionally, industry experts predict a steady rise in electric car adoption in the United States, with estimates projecting an increase from 2% in 2020 to 22% by 2025, further highlighting the significance of this EV charging expansion.
