Popular computer systems design service Nvidia (NVDA) has, quite ironically, been attacked.
LAPSUS has hit the tech company with a double extortion method. Nvidia confirmed the ransomware gang had successfully breached its systems and stolen sensitive company data, including employee credentials and proprietary company information.
LAPSUS, in hopes of helping the gaming and cryptocurrency mining community, has demanded Nvidia commit to completely open-source their GPU drivers for Windows, macOS, and Linux — or else their stolen files of recent and future graphics cards would be leaked.

Hacking and cyberattacks may sound ultra video-game-esque, but they’re actually not the rarest phenomena. They might not be rare but that doesn’t make their effects any less damaging. Just in the last year double extortion cases by hackers on companies have been increasing, with one in seven cases resulting in a critical data leak.
