If you were smashing up your keyboard on Wednesday due to the seven hour-long Fortnite shortage, don’t despair – the game’s parent company Epic Games recently announced a restoration of the servers.

The outage happened during the game’s special virtual event, Winterfest, where players are rewarded for completing special quests. Players had trouble logging and connecting online, even to their Epic Games account. With Fortnite having over 350 million registered users as of late, it’s become one of the world’’s most popular video games. It recently posted an update, Chapter 3, which revised the game’s environment to ramp-up engagement.

Fortnite is known for recently being a trailblazer when it comes to having scope for blockchain integration – ideas have been generated to make the game’s unique skins and character features into NFT-like tokens for players to own and collect.
