Ship ship hurray! Shipa Freight, the digital freight forwarding arm of Kuwait's logistics and warehouse provider Agility is merging with Barcelona-based online freight platform iContainers. Shipa Freight and iContainers will merge their technological platforms and operations, which will be completely controlled by Agility.
The merger, the terms of which have not been made public, will result in comprehensive digital forwarding services, including freight shipments, household relocation services, agent services for local forwarding companies seeking international partners, and "white label" digital forwarding services that can be integrated into B2B e-commerce platforms.
Agility said that it expects the digital freight forwarding market to grow by over 40% annually over the next few years and that the merger will create a stronger company to serve these customers.
