  • Etihad Airways has signed a landmark deal worth AED 1.5 billion to acquire 16 aircraft engines from Sanad. The purchase includes nine GEnx engines for Boeing 787 aircraft, five GP7200 engines for Airbus A380, one Trent XWB engine for Airbus A350, and one V2500 engine for the airline's A320 fleet. According to Antonoaldo Neves, CEO of Etihad Airways, this acquisition marks a key milestone in maintaining the airline's world-class fleet, fueling further growth while emphasizing the strong, two-decade synergy between Etihad and Sanad.

  • Sanad, a leading independent engine maintenance provider in the MENA region, has a long-standing partnership with Etihad that dates back to 2003. The company has performed MRO services on over 400 engines for Etihad, playing a critical role in maintaining the airline's fleet. Sanad CEO Mansoor Janahi highlighted this deal as a testament to the strength of Abu Dhabi’s aviation sector, underscoring the collaboration’s role in driving growth and strengthening the aviation ecosystem in the region.
