In a $2.5b partnership between Dutch automobile company Stellantis and electronics corporation Samsung, 1,400 jobs will be created. What's the big purchase? Stellantis’s second electric vehicle battery plant in North America! The Indiana-based battery plant will produce lithium-ion batteries by 2025. The already large price tags may get even larger, reaching up to $3.1b.

2025 has other large changes in store, including the potential Volkswagon take over as the largest EV seller. Potentially taking the title from Tesla (TSLA), Volkswagen must first overturn the supply crisis of the pandemic.

Why it matters

With large EV investments and new targeted policies and regulations, our shift to EVs is becoming more apparent. The UAE’s capital has outlined policies for EVs, including its charging infrastructure, in anticipation of more EVs hitting the capital’s roads.
