Elon Musk has a successor in mind to become the next Tesla CEO, according to new comments from Tesla board member James Murdoch. In testimony at a trial challenging Elon Musk’s giant compensation package at Tesla, Musk said he does not want to be the CEO of any company and would eventually appoint a new chief executive at Twitter.

During his prior deposition months ago, Murdoch said that Musk never mentioned a potential successor for his role of CEO at Tesla, but on the stand recently Musk suggested a potential successor since then. The director didn’t specify who, but he did suggest that Musk mentioned the person in a somewhat recent conversation.
